Nice to meet you, I am Paolo, let me tell a bit about me.
I was born in Italy and living in Scotland since a few years - I know, I’m a lucky bastard, born in a beautiful Country living in another beautiful one 😏
I like watching cult movies and cheesy tv shows, as much as I like playing board games - and not winning, as I like more experimenting crazy strategies than winning 😅 I also like to some extent playing videogames and reading novels and non-fiction books.
Around New year’s eve 2006/2007, when I was in my early 20’s, I fell in love with the Linux and OpenSource world, with a passion that grew more and more, until one day, I discovered that what I was just doing for fun at home could also be done as job. Incredible, who’d have thought so! I could have fun and be paid 👍 👍 👍 So it’s since 2013 that, I drifted away frommy initial life projects and began to work in the IT industry.
I’ve been working first as SysAdmin, then as Performance Engineer until landing in the DevOps/SRE territory. I’ve met so many wonderful people in the companies I’ve been working so far and with some of them also a friendship beyond the office has born.
From that passion for my job the idea of a blog was born years ago with a wordpress experiment first (paba-blog.it) that no one gave a shit about, and now with this wonderful jamstack blog, which even fewer people will give a shit about, but at least it’s wonderful and I had a lot of fun setting it up!
